Old San Juan has two famous forts that the Spaniards used to guard the city against the English and Dutch. This is the inside courtyard of the Fuerte San Cristóbal.
The Fuerte San Felipe del Morro, known simply as "El Morro", is a castle buff's dream. It guards the strategic inlet into San Juan. The guard towers are very distinctive and are all slightly different in design from each other.
